Have a go, and help advance our research while having fun!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Throughout June 2020, Prof Shalom Lappin gave a series of online lectures at CLASP on <a href=\"https:\/\/competitions.codalab.org\/competitions\/20905\">deep learning and the nature of linguistic representation<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In December we ran the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pheme.eu\/rdsm2020\/\">3rd International Workshop on Rumours and Deception in Social Media (RDSM)<\/a>, co-located with COLING&nbsp; in Barcelona.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At COLING 2020 in December we co-delivered a <strong>tutorial on \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcDetection and Resolution of Rumors and Misinformation with NLP\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Throughout 2020, we ran SemEval 2020 Task 3 on <strong>Graded Word Similarity in Context<\/strong> \u00e2\u20ac\u201c check out the details and get the data <a href=\"https:\/\/competitions.codalab.org\/competitions\/20905\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On 14-16th October, we helped organise <a href=\"http:\/\/slsp2019.irdta.eu\/\">SLSP 2019<\/a> in Ljubljana, Slovenia.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On 4-6th September, we hosted <a href=\"http:\/\/semdial2019.github.io\/\">LondonLogue, the 23rd SemDial workshop on the semantics and pragmatics of dialogue<\/a> here at QMUL.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In August 2019, we organised a <strong>Workshop on Semantic Spaces at the Intersection of NLP, Physics, and Cognitive Science<\/strong> at <a href=\"http:\/\/esslli2019.folli.info\/welcome-to-esslli-2019\/\">ESSLLI 2019<\/a> in Riga, Latvia.&nbsp; This was jointly organised by Martha Lewis (ILLC), Dan Marsden (Oxford) and Sadrzadeh (QMUL). It was a third in the series of workshops <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/view\/capns2018\/home\">CAPNS2018<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/semspworkshop\/\">SEMSO2016<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In August 2019, we taught two courses at <a href=\"http:\/\/esslli2019.folli.info\/welcome-to-esslli-2019\/\">ESSLLI 2019<\/a> in Riga, Latvia:<strong> (1)&nbsp;Vector Space Models of Meaning<\/strong>, by Lewis (ILLC) and Sadrzadeh (QMUL), and<strong> (2)&nbsp;Incremental Language Processing in Dialogue Systems<\/strong> by Eshghi (Heriot-Watt) and Hough (QMUL).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On 29-30th August, we helped to host <a href=\"http:\/\/vihar-2019.vihar.org\/\">VIHAR 2019, the 2nd International Workshop on Vocal Interactivity in-and-between Humans, Animals and Robots<\/a> here at QMUL.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On 24th May, we co-organised the IWCS 2017 workshop on <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/dialoguevector\/\">Vector Semantics for Dialogue &amp; Discourse<\/a> in Gothenburg.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We teach 2 NLP courses in the academic year 2018-2019:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <strong>core NLP<\/strong> module covering the basic statistical, syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic methods in NLP,&nbsp; in the fall semester (Sept-Dec 2018).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An <strong>advanced NLP<\/strong> module going over the <strong>neural network<\/strong> technology available for NLP tasks,&nbsp; in the winter semester (Jan-April 2019).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In June 2018 the DALI project organised the NAACL workshop <a href=\"http:\/\/anawiki.essex.ac.uk\/dali\/crac18\/\">CRAC: Computational Models of Reference, Anaphora, and Coreference<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2017<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In July 2017 we hosted the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.molweb.org\/mol2017\/\">15th Meeting on the Mathematics of Language (MoL)<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In July 2017 we co-organised (with UCL) the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eecs.qmul.ac.uk\/~mehrs\/wollic\/wollic2017.html\">24th Workshop in Logic Language Information and Computation (WoLLIC)<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At ESSLLI we delivered a one-week course at \u00e2\u20ac\u0153<a href=\"https:\/\/www.irit.fr\/esslli2017\/courses\/34\">Introduction to Categorical Compositional Distributional Semantics<\/a>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153. Instructors: Dimitri Kartsaklis, Martha Lewis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2016<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On 11\/12\/2016 we held a tutorial at <a href=\"http:\/\/coling2016.anlp.jp\/\">COLING 2016<\/a> on <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/coling2016cdmtutorial\/\">\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Compositional Distributional Models of Meaning\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/a> (instructors: M. Sadrzadeh, D. Kartsaklis)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Workshop on <a href=\"http:\/\/webprojects.eecs.qmul.ac.uk\/mpurver\/ccnlg\/\">Computational Creativity in Natural Language Generation<\/a> took place on 5\/6 September 2016 at the University of Edinburgh. It was a workshop of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.macs.hw.ac.uk\/InteractionLab\/INLG2016\/\">INLG 2016<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Workshop on <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/statlogmeaning\/home\">Statistical and Logical Models of Meaning<\/a> took place from 11 to 15 of July 2016 at Rutgers University, New Jersey. It was a workshop of <a href=\"http:\/\/nasslli2016.rutgers.edu\/\">NASSLLI 2016<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Workshop on <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/semspworkshop\/\">Semantic Spaces at the Intersection of NLP, Physics and Cognitive Science<\/a> took place on 11<sup>th<\/sup> of June 2016 at the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, Scotland). Invited speakers: Hans Briegel, Peter G\u00c3\u00a4rdenfors, Dominic Widdows.
